Freestanding heating appliances
There are about 60 manufacturers of fireplaces and stoves organized in the department of freestanding heating appliances.
The manufacturers organized in the department of freestanding heating appliances are producing fireplaces for the classic operation with log wood and with special consideration also for lignite briquettes but also for the operation with pellets. Furthermore water-carrying components enable the integration of selected appliances into the heating circuit of buildings. Gas room heaters, oil stoves and coal stoves complete the product range of the HKI members.
The HKI supports the manufacturers in complying with 1. BlmSchV through the HKI Cert fireplaces database. This database represents a possibility for the compliance with requirements of the 1.BlmSchV from the 26th of January 2010. Besides the requirements of the transitional arrangements of the 1.BlmSchV for existing single room fireplaces and the requirements of the 1st level of 1.BlmSchV for new solid fuel single room fireplaces, the database also checks the fulfillment of the requirements of the 2nd level of the 1.BlmSchV for new solid fuel single room fireplaces, which are installed after the 31st of December 2014. The fireplace data base is supported by the federal association of chimney sweeps (ZIV) and the central association of sanitary, heating and climate (ZVSHK). It is accepted by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the State working group for pollution control (LAI) as a proof possibility with the implementation of the statutory requirements of the 1.BlmSchV.
The HKI industrial association engages intensively in the creation of the appliance standards in the field of single room fireplaces and can provide reliable information to its members about this complex subject area.
